Our Location
One of the highlights of your adventure with us is our tranquil wilderness setting in a sheltered picturesque bay regularly patrolled by loons. Our surroundings consist of thick towering red, white and jack pines, with the occasional birch, clinging to imposing rock faces, granite rock protruding throughout the landscape, and deep clean clear water – all examples of the great Canadian Shield which inspired so many works of art and literature. Our small piece of this paradise is on beautiful Kipawa Lake in the Temiscamingue Region of Quebec.
During your entire stay with us it is possible that the only other people and boats you may encounter are other guests from our 7 cottages.
Our launch point in Kipawa Outpost, Quebec has easy highway access from Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal. Secure parking facilities for our guests’ vehicles and trailers (for those who wish to bring their own boats) are available at our private launch area in Kipawa Outpost at no fee to you. From there, we transport you and your gear to our camp with one of three transport boats (all of which are 22’-24’ long). This is a beautiful 20-kilometre boat ride during which you will be introduced to various fishing areas.
For your peace of mind, access to medical facilities is available in Temiscamingue or Ville-Marie - each about 25 minutes from Laniel via highway 101. Also, digital and analog cellular phone signals exist along most of your highway trip, and analog cellular phone signal is available on many parts of the lake – including from the main camp (most of the time depending on your phone). We also have a regular radio phone at the camp. Both English and French are spoken throughout the region.
